Our Work
Our Portfolio of Impact
Hopewell Fund supports a diverse portfolio of work driven by leaders advancing social change across the country. From policy innovation and advocacy to community programs, our projects address some of tomorrow’s most urgent challenges.
By providing operational infrastructure and strategic support, we help mission-driven leaders focus on the work that matters most — driving meaningful progress for the communities they serve.
The Rare Impact Fund
The Rare Impact Fund was founded by Selena Gomez in 2020 to help expand access to mental health services and education for young people around the world. Through awareness-building, strategic partnerships, and evidence-based grantmaking, the Fund works to strengthen the youth mental health ecosystem and increase access to mental health resources and education.
The Rare Impact Fund is mobilizing $100 million in contributions to support organizations advancing this work globally. In support of this mission, 1% of all Rare Beauty sales are donated to the Fund, alongside contributions from philanthropic foundations, corporate partners, and individual donors. States at the Core (STAC)
American democracy is facing a crisis. No one should be left to fend for themselves when threats to democracy impact their communities. Experts with deep experience meeting the challenges of authoritarian threats to democracy created States at the Core (STAC).
STAC partners with and fills gaps for community leaders and organizers across the country who face threats ranging from white nationalist rallies and school board takeovers to authoritarian overreach and political violence. We provide rapid, customized support to front-line groups, helping them build strategic, tailored, and bold plans so they can take courageous action.
Abortion in America
Abortion in America is a national effort to collect, amplify, and share the personal experiences of people whose lives and work have been affected by abortion bans. A growing body of research suggests that personal stories about the impact of abortion bans are changing the way Americans think and talk about reproductive health. Helping these stories reach key audiences is essential to building public support for abortion access across the country.
One way they build public support and reach key audiences is through Amplify Legal, the litigation arm of AIA led by attorney Molly Duane of Zurawski v Texas. Accessing essential health care shouldn’t require a lawyer, but too often it does—especially when you’re pregnant. Amplify Legal assists people with securing access to care before, during, and after pregnancy, helps those who have already been harmed seek justice, and wields the power of law—and lived experiences—to bring about lasting change.
Better Taxes for a Better America
Taxes touch nearly every aspect of American life, from our homes and families and communities, to our work and our commerce, to our democracy and society itself.
Our current tax code too often favors the interests of a powerful and wealthy few at the expense of everyone else, deepening racial disparities and deliberately starving the public of the resources needed to invest properly in our communities. Winning on taxes means funding childcare, high-quality education, accessible healthcare, well-maintained infrastructure, and solutions to fight climate change.
Better Taxes for a Better America funder table exists to seize the opportunity over the next three years to help dramatically alter the landscape of tax policy in the United States, the consequences of which will be felt for generations.
